Andris Nelsons returns to Carnegie Hall

This week, Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra return to Carnegie Hall, New York. Tonight they will present Ives’ ‘Unanswered Question’, Unsuk Chin’s ‘Scherben der Stille’ and end with Berlioz’s ‘Symphonie Fantastique’. Chin’s new violin concerto, played by Leonidas Kavakos, is an alliance commission between the Boston Symphony and the Gewandhausorchester which was premiered by Nelsons and the BSO at Boston’s Symphony Hall earlier this month.

Tomorrow evening Nelsons will lead a concert performance of Berg’s opera, Wozzeck, with a star soloist line up including Bo Skovhus as Wozzeck and Christine Goerke as Marie.
