Rachmaninoff and Strauss at the Wiener Philharmoniker
Andris Nelsons returns to the Wiener Philharmoniker on August 29 and 30 to conduct the orchestra alongside pianist Daniil Trifonov.
Nelsons has a rich history of over twenty-five years of performance and artistic collaboration with the Wiener Philharmoniker. His conducting has been described by The Wall Street Journal as “focused and with vigor, eliciting tonal beauty, technical precision and obvious engagement from the orchestra.”
The program includes the Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, Op. 30 by Sergei Rachmaninoff, as well as Strauss’s Don Juan, Op. 20, and Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks, Op. 28.
