Tour with the Vienna Philharmonic

This week Andris Nelsons embarks on an extensive tour with the world-renowned Wiener Philharmoniker across South Korea, China, and Japan. The tour begins in Seoul, South Korea, and features world-class soloists Midori Goto, Seong-Jin Cho, and Yefim Bronfman. The four-week tour across Asia consists of 21 concerts in 10 cities and marks the first Asia tour with Nelsons and the Viennese orchestra since 2017.

The first series of concerts in Seoul include Prokofiev’s violin concerto with Midori and Mahler’s 5th symphony on 23 October, before Nelsons takes to the stage with Seong-Jin Cho in his home city of Seoul at Seoul Arts Center on 25 October and Lotte Concert Hall on 26 October to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3 in C minor. Also on the programme is Richard Strauss’ tone poem, Ein Heldenleben. The third concert programme will include Shostakovich’s 9th symphony, as well as Dvořák’s 7th symphony.

Following the concerts in South Korea, Andris Nelsons continues the tour with further performances in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Guangzhou, Kawasaki, Hamamatsu, Osaka, Fukui, and Tokyo.
