Andris Nelsons and Boston Symphony Orchestra open 2023/24 season

Following the successful European Summer Tour, Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra will open their 2023/24 season tonight. Returning with a varied programme, the BSO’s first concert includes Beethoven’s ‘Consecration of the House’ Overture, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, played by Rudolf Buchbinder, Arturs Maskats’ Tango, as well as Richard Strauss’ Rosenkavalier Suite. At this weekend’s Symphony Gala Concert, Nelsons and the BSO will further perform works by Duke Ellington with the Aaron Diehl Trio, as well as Carlos Simon’s BSO-commissioned ‘Four Black American Dances’.
