Andris Nelsons’ recording “Shostakovich: Symphonies Nos. 4 & 11” was named one of Gramophone’s 2018 Recordings of the Year. Described as “hair-raisingly vibrant” by the Financial Times, the album released by Deutsche Grammophon, was also listed as one of Gramophone’s September Editor’s Choices. Further accolades for his “Shostakovich: Symphonies Nos. 4 & 11” album include it’s recent Grammy nomination for “Best Orchestral Performance” and “Best Engineered Album, Classical”, as well as being named one of MusicWeb International’s Recordings of the Year 2018.

Nelsons’ album with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig “Bruckner: Symphony No. 4/Wagner: Lohengrin – Prelude to Act 1” was also listed one of MusicWeb International’s Recordings of the Year 2018. This album marks Nelsons’ second installment in a multi-album Bruckner series on the Deutsche Grammophon label with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig.
