This week, Andris Nelsons and the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra are on tour performing the music of Wagner, with soloists Christine Goerke, Klaus Florian Vogt and Günther Groissböck. They have so far performed concerts in Cologne, Essen and Paris and will be at the Riga Jurmala Music Festival tomorrow Friday 3 September and Saturday 4 September for two very special concerts where Nelsons will make his debut at the festival in the city where he was born. This tour has been organised by the KD SCHMID touring department, and is the orchestra’s first ever European tour.
