Gewandhausorchester Leipzig tour and season opening

Gewandhauskapellmeister Andris Nelsons and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra will open their 2024/25 season with a brief European tour ahead of the season-opening weekend at the iconic Gewandhaus in Leipzig. The renowned pianist Daniil Trifonov will accompany the orchestra as a soloist and perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K. 503. The programme also includes Thomas Adès’ “Shanty – Over the Sea” for string orchestra, and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6 in A major, WAB 106.

The season-opening tour will begin on Sunday, 1 September at the Essen Philharmonie, followed by performances in Cologne and Lucerne at the Lucerne Festival. The concerts in Leipzig will take place on 6 and 8 September. For further information and tickets, please follow the links below.
