Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the baton of star conductor Andris Nelsons on tour in Europe: An unforgettable highlight to end the season
All over Europe – The Mahler Chamber Orchestra will end the season with a musical highlight: under the remarkable baton of Andris Nelsons, the orchestra will embark on a European tour from 1 to 12 June. This extraordinary concert tour promises to be an unforgettable experience for music lovers across the continent.
They will be accompanied by two internationally renowned soloists: Christiane Karg (soprano) and Lang Lang (piano). With Christiane Karg, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra will present works by Mozart, Schönberg and Beethoven in Baden-Baden and Saint-Denis (France), including “Bella mia fiamma … Resta, o cara”, Schönberg’s “Verklärte Nacht”, Beethoven’s “Ah, perfido” and Beethoven’s Fate Symphony (5th Symphony). This remarkable combination promises a musical performance full of passion and emotional power.
The programme with Lang Lang, on the other hand, remains entirely dedicated to the work of Beethoven. A tribute to the great composer, it is exclusively in C minor. The concert begins with the impressive Coriolan Overture and continues before the interval with the 3rd Piano Concerto. After the interval, audiences in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Wien, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt and München will have the opportunity to enjoy Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Remaining tickets can be found here.
