Boston Symphony Orchestra Season Opening Concerts

Today, the Boston Symphony Orchestra will welcome audiences back to Symphony Hall for the first time since the pandemic!

For this momentous occasion, Andris Nelsons will share the podium with composer and conductor John Williams, who will conduct his new Violin Concerto No 2 with Anne-Sophie Mutter (which was premiered at Tanglewood this summer). Nelsons will conduct the rest of the programme, featuring Beethoven’s “Consecration of the House” overture and the Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra.
