Concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic in Europe & Asia
Andris Nelsons leads the Vienna Philharmonic in a series of fourteen performances this month, with events hosted at premiere concert venues throughout Europe in addition to an extensive tour of Asia, bringing the tremendous classical music tradition of Vienna to new audiences. He conducts a programme featuring Beethoven’s Symphonies Nos. 7 & 8 on October 12, 13, 14 & 15 at the Musikverein. Please note all concerts are now sold-out, however, returned and standing room tickets will be available via the linked dates above.
On October 16 Maestro Nelsons and the Philharmonic journey to Dortmund, for a performance featuring both Beethoven symphonic works at the Konzerthaus Dortmund. As with the dates in Vienna, this performance is sold-out with standing room available 90 minutes prior to the concert. Following a few days of travel, the tour of Asia begins on October 19 in Shenzhen, where they perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 and Richard Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben. The following evening (October 20) at their second concert in Shenzhen, works featured will include Beethoven’s Overture No. 3 to Fidelio, Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. They continue on with performances in Guangzhou (October 21 & 22); Shanghai (October 24 & 25); Nanjing (October 26 & 27); and Macao (October 29 & 30). The events include rotating programmes which feature the works mentioned above.
